Insiders say JPMorgan is in the early stages of exploring blockchain-based deposit tokenization to expedite cross-border payments and settlements. It's reported that JPMorgan has already developed much of the underlying infrastructure needed to facilitate the new payment method, but the creation of tokens will not proceed unless the project gains approval from U.S. regulatory authorities.
