This morning, there wasn't much work to do, so I quietly opened my personal laptop to play baccarat. My strategy for today was to consistently bet on the Player side, as the trend mostly favored the Banker. I waited for a good opportunity when the Banker was on a streak before placing my bets. At first, it was a bit of a struggle as I kept going back and forth between winning and losing. The Player side wasn't producing any streaks, not even a two in a row. I thought to myself that this situation couldn't last forever. Finally, I managed to catch a Player streak, and collecting the winnings felt natural.
However, it's essential to be cautious when playing baccarat at work. My work setup is quite unique, so as long as I stay focused and discreet, the risk of being caught playing baccarat is minimal. Nevertheless, it's still necessary to be vigilant when gambling in a public setting. Since it's the end of the month, work isn't as demanding, and I've already completed most of the projects assigned to me. So, for now, there's not much work-related stress, and I spend these days going to work with a sense of enjoyment.
It's like when one bad thing happens, a string of unfortunate events follows. Lately, I've been winning more often, and work has been relatively smooth, but it's a double-edged sword. Good and bad occurrences seem to come in pairs. I've been contemplating whether there's a reason for this phenomenon. Essentially, when one bad thing occurs, if another bad thing follows shortly after, it gives the impression that everything happening lately is negative. It's merely a selective perception of the negative events, and that's why it feels like everything is going wrong, leading to complaints and frustration.
That's why I agree with those who say it's essential to maintain a positive and optimistic mindset. It's not that being optimistic will magically make life better or problems disappear. It's about cultivating a positive outlook that can bring more happiness to your inner self. Problems and difficulties will always exist, but facing them with optimism is better than being pessimistic. It can at least make your inner world a bit happier. After all, in life, happiness and contentment are paramount. |
