Core Tip: Betting on Pairs
Recently, some casinos (DC) have introduced a new element to the game of baccarat in order to make it more interesting and diverse, or you could say, to increase their revenue. They have added the option of betting on 'pairs' at the baccarat tables.
Betting on 'pairs' involves wagering on whether a pair of cards will appear among the initial two cards dealt to either the 'banker' or the 'player' hand. When betting on 'pairs,' you need to specify whether you are betting on a 'banker pair' or a 'player pair.' The payout for this type of bet is 1:11.
Many gamblers, when betting on 'pairs,' place simultaneous bets on both the 'banker' and 'player' hands. Some even like to place a bet on what's called the 'Three Gems,' which involves betting on the 'banker,' getting a pair, and also betting on a 'tie.' This betting strategy aims to achieve significant returns by hitting all three outcomes with a single bet, and even hitting one out of the three can yield decent odds.
As I mentioned earlier, 'ties' occur approximately once every ten hands, and 'pairs' are even less frequent. That's why casinos offer a payout rate of 1:11 for 'pairs.' If you are betting on the 'Three Gems' every time, even if you hit a 'pair' once every four times, you would still incur a loss. It's safe to say that this type of betting strategy is not worth it. Instead of betting on 'pairs,' it's better to increase your bet on either the 'banker' or 'player' hands.
After introducing several baccarat betting methods, I believe you now have a deeper understanding of how to win at the baccarat table.
