"Thinking back to when I first started playing blackjack, I didn't know anything and had no idea how to play. I just came across an article like this and wanted to share it with everyone.
More and more gamblers are choosing to play blackjack at online casinos, so let's explain some common terms in online blackjack:
**Blackjack**: The sum of the points of two cards in one hand reaches 21 points (such as an Ace and a face card or a 10-point card).
**Hit**: Draw another card. Players (including both the player and the dealer) can choose to draw cards as long as the sum of their hand does not exceed 21 points.
**Stand**: Do not draw more cards. In any situation, players can choose to stand and not draw cards.
**Split**: Players can place another bet equal to the original bet and split the first two cards into two separate hands. These two cards must have the same point value (e.g., a pair of 8s, a pair of Kings or Queens, and in some variations, a pair of 10s can also be split). However, in the case of a split blackjack, the payout is only 1 to 1.
**Double Down**: After receiving the first two cards, players can place another bet equal to the original bet (and optionally increase it) and then draw only one more card. If a player gets a blackjack after doubling down, they do not receive a double payout.
**Insurance**: If the dealer's face-up card is an Ace, players can buy insurance, which is equivalent to half of the original bet. If players believe the dealer's next card will be a 10-point card, they can buy insurance. If the dealer indeed has a blackjack, the player will win double the insurance bet. If not, the player loses the insurance bet but the game continues as usual. Note that in some variations, insurance is not allowed.
**Surrender**: If a player has only two cards and wants to surrender, they can do so and get back half of their wager. Surrender is only allowed if the dealer's face-up card is not an Ace.
**Winning Hand**: Players are considered winners if they have a blackjack (provided the dealer does not also have a blackjack), if their point total is closer to 21 than the dealer's (but not exceeding 21), or if the dealer's total exceeds 21 (regardless of the player's total).
**Push**: A push occurs when the player's hand total is the same as the dealer's hand total or when both the player and the dealer have blackjack. In this case, there is no winner, and the player's bet is returned.
**Dealer Wins**: The dealer wins if they have blackjack (but the player does not), if the dealer's hand total is closer to 21 than the player's (but not exceeding 21), or if the player's total exceeds 21 (regardless of the dealer's total)." |
