Vietnam's Finance Ministry has proposed regular inspections for seven major tourist destination casinos. In Vietnam, gambling remains illegal, except for operations exclusively for foreigners. Additionally, six 'small casinos' in several provinces of Vietnam will also be subject to inspections.
According to the Finance Ministry's proposal, foreigner-only casinos in seven provinces and cities in Vietnam will undergo regular inspections. Vietnam currently has nine casinos, including three large ones in Phu Quoc Island in Kien Giang Province, Hoi An in Quang Nam Province, and Ho Tram in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. The other six small casinos are located in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, and Da Nang.
This initiative aims to ensure that casinos and electronic gaming businesses strictly adhere to the law, as reported by the government's portal. The Finance Ministry has stated that some casinos have recently been found providing services to illegal customers and offering unauthorized services. In Vietnam, gambling is illegal, with only certain casinos primarily catering to foreigners.
