UAE Hotel Group Rotana Announces New Casino Project

Rotana, the UAE-based hotel operator, is set to open a new casino within the luxurious Pontus Rotana Resort & Spa Gonio in Georgia. In a statement, Rotana announced that this luxury property, in partnership with Pontus Capital, will be located in the renowned suburb of Batumi Beach and is expected to open its doors in 2026, catering to both business and leisure travelers. The new resort will feature 600 guest rooms, offering a world-class casino, private beach, restaurants, a spa center, indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a health and fitness center. The resort will also have an interactive children's play area.

Guy Hutchinson, the President and CEO of Rotana, stated that this resort will be Rotana's first five-star hotel in Georgia. ""With its stunning architecture, exquisite dining options, and exceptional entertainment facilities, Pontus Rotana Resort & Spa will deliver on our unique brand promise of 'Treasured Time' for guests and visitors. This 600-room resort marks a significant milestone in Rotana's international expansion, and we look forward to the successful launch of this property,"" explained Hutchinson.

The coastal town of Gonio, located on the Black Sea coast, is renowned for its beaches and lush green hills. The prominent Pontus Rotana Resort & Spa is just a 7-minute drive from Batumi International Airport and a 14-minute drive from the city center of Batumi. It is also only a 10-minute drive from the Turkish border near Sarfi.
