In the world of player transfers, the worst nightmare is buying players who are on high wages but can't contribute immediately to the team. Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been heavily criticized since joining the team due to frequent injuries that have kept him from making a meaningful impact. However, what nobody expected was that once Pogba finally returned from injury to play for the team, he would be banned for a positive drug test result, leaving many Juventus fans feeling that this was their worst transfer deal in a decade.

After his contract with Manchester United expired, Pogba joined Juventus as a free agent with a reported after-tax salary of 8 million euros per year. Many Juventus fans initially celebrated the signing of a world-class player like Pogba on a free transfer, considering it a great deal. However, this optimism quickly faded as Pogba's injury struggles continued. Since rejoining Juventus last year, wearing the number 10 jersey once again, the French midfielder played only 10 games in the entire season, totaling just 161 minutes on the field. For a player earning an after-tax salary of 8 million euros per year, this was an unacceptable situation.

But the disappointment didn't end with injuries. A more devastating blow came when the Italian Anti-Doping Court officially announced that Pogba had tested positive for testosterone in an anti-doping test and would be provisionally suspended, pending further test results. The match in which Pogba tested positive took place on August 20th, when anti-doping tests were conducted. In other words, after missing an entire season due to injuries, Pogba's return to the team was marred by this shocking revelation, leaving Juventus fans deeply disappointed.

According to reports, Pogba will have three days to appeal and request further testing. If the results remain positive, he will face the judgment of the anti-doping court, and the ban for unintentional use of doping can be up to 2 years, while intentional use can lead to a 4-year ban. If the suspension is confirmed, Juventus is likely to terminate Pogba's contract. This would be a regrettable outcome for the once-promising midfield maestro, and Juventus fans would undoubtedly feel a sense of disappointment.
