The recent events have been the most challenging days for AC Milan fans. Firstly, the former president suddenly passed away due to illness. Then, the iconic veteran player Zlatan Ibrahimović announced his retirement in Milan. Following that, Paolo Maldini, the technical director who symbolized the spirit of Milan, was dismissed by AC Milan's owner. The final blow came when Milan's young talent, Tonali, was officially transferred to Newcastle for €80 million. It's left fans wondering where the spirit of AC Milan has gone.

Let's start with Ibrahimović's retirement. In reality, it was expected as he was getting older, and his playing time had decreased. So, his retirement was a natural progression. However, his leadership and cohesion played a significant role in Milan winning the league title last season, making his retirement a regrettable moment for him.

The second issue was the departure of technical director Maldini. The Maldini family has been an integral part of AC Milan, representing the club's spiritual totem. As long as Maldini was there, AC Milan was assured in terms of player recruitment and sales. However, due to last year's less-than-successful signings, Milan's performance and financial results for the current season only met the minimum targets. This led to dissatisfaction from AC Milan's owner, Red Bird, who eventually dismissed Maldini.

This move caused quite a stir, considering Maldini's high status at AC Milan. Even star player Leão, who had just renewed his contract, expressed regret, saying he wouldn't have renewed if he had known this would happen. After parting ways with Maldini, Red Bird even started thinking about selling players to generate cash, disregarding the team's long-term development. Consequently, the Milan prodigy and future captain, Tonali, was sold to Newcastle. It's worth noting that when Tonali renewed his contract last year to stay in Milan, he voluntarily took a pay cut. However, under Red Bird's pressure, Tonali had no choice but to leave AC Milan. It's been reported that he couldn't hold back tears upon learning that the owner was insistent on selling him.

With the departure of Ibrahimović, who represented the spirit of AC Milan, and Maldini, the club's legendary figure, and now the absence of a promising talent like Tonali, some say that AC Milan has lost its soul.

Milan is financially constrained, and there's not much they can do about it.

It's indeed heart-wrenching to see players shed tears when they find out that the owner insists on selling them. It's a difficult situation for the players to endure.

Tonali's genuine love for Milan is apparent, and it must be incredibly tough for him to deal with the fact that Milan, the club he deeply cherishes, has treated him as a mere commodity due to financial constraints. It's certainly disheartening to witness such situations, and it can lead to disillusionment among fans who feel that their beloved club's priorities have shifted away from the values they hold dear.
