Australian teams from the early 90s to the late 00s were arguably the best cricketing nations in the world. They were simply unstoppable with top players across all formats and have won countless trophies with their aggressive cricketing attitude. Why can’t the current squad match anything prevalent from the previous squad?

The current Australian team lacks the aggressiveness and good leadership attitude, which was prevalent in the previous sides. The team led by Steve Waugh was met with great players and equally good captains. This kept on with Ricky Ponting Michael Clarke and Steve Smith. This was something that was missing in the current squad.

The Old Aussie squad had players who accounted immensely for the roles they played while in the squad. Each of the players knows their role and used to stick to the plans. With smart captaincy and a take-no-prisoners attitude, the previous Aussie team delivered whenever they played. This attitude is missing in the current squad.

The Australian team would never be the same as what it was back in the ’00s. The players, the captains, and the overall attitude were very different from what the players in the current team have.
