According to The Athletic, the Los Angeles Lakers have reached a four-year, $48 million contract extension agreement with forward Jared Vanderbilt. The contract is fully guaranteed, with a player option for the fourth year.
Vanderbilt, who was traded to the Lakers from the Jazz just before last season's trade deadline, played in 26 regular-season games for the Lakers. He averaged 7.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
At 24 years old, Vanderbilt was the 41st overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. After joining the Lakers, he quickly became a valuable role player and an important part of the team's rotation, helping them achieve a 19-7 record in the regular season.
In those 26 regular-season games, he averaged 24 minutes per game and had shooting percentages of 52.9% from the field and 30.3% from beyond the arc, making him an effective contributor as a role player.
After a week of negotiations, Vanderbilt and the Lakers have agreed to this four-year, $48 million contract extension, fully guaranteeing his future with the team. What do you think, is it worth it? |
