With the rise of advertisements and sponsorships, it looks like players are more focused on ads rather than the game. If you look closer, almost every player in the Indian cricket team is working with multiple brands to promote their products or services. Instead of preparing for their upcoming matches, they focus on getting more brand deals.

While it is somewhat true, what it isn’t the fault of only the players. The cricket boards also allow several brands to sponsor their cricketing kits, the players also take advantage and do more advertisements than before.

Yes. This is definitely the case. Back then in the Tendulkar era, players were focused only on the actual game side of things and didn’t focus much on the economic and commercial side of things. And this way, they played better than today’s team.

Advertisements are needed in this age and as cricket is so popular nowadays even with the non-cricketing nations, it is obvious that players will do advertisements. We should not compare doing ads to their on-field performance.
