Cricket has seen legendary commentators, who elevate the mood of the game and are known for their accurate ball-by-ball descriptions of the game. However, there are some, who are just a misfit for the role. Who are some of the worst commentators?

For my money, I would rate Sanjay Manjrekar as the worst of the lot.

Sanjay Manjrekar has been in the commentary scene since the early 00s and has a prolific flow of both Hindi and English speech. However, there have been numerous instances, where his biased opinions over a certain team or a player are clearly understandable. This makes him a biased and one-sided commentator.

If biased commentary had a captain, this should be Russel Arnold.

Russel Arnold has had a decent international career, playing for Sri Lanka up to 2007. His stint with the commentary began after he retired from international cricket. Although he has made a reputation for commentating in English and Tamil, Russel Arnold has a notorious reputation for taking jibes against rival teams and players, while during the pre/post-match analysis or during live commentary. While this would have seemed right if it was every team that’s under question, Arnold simply doesn't utter anything negative for a Sri Lankan player or the team. This makes him a biased commentator.

If Sri Lanka has Russel Arnold and India has Sanjay Manjrekar, England for sure has Nasser Hussain.

Nasser Hussain is a name that’s synonymous with leading England in the World Cup of 2003. Despite his accomplishments as a captain and a batsman, Hussain is known for rubbing people the wrong way. From calling Indian cricketers donkeys at one point, and having a heated exchange while doing a live commentary, Hussain has found himself in hot waters with the commentary panel and the channel he is associated with.
