They say records are meant to be broken. Nevertheless, certain accomplishments are next to impossible for a player to break. What are these records?

For a record that stood intact for over 78 years, I feel Sir Donald Bradman’s average of 99.9 in tests would be one that wouldn’t be broken.

Consistency and runs on one side, to have scored a whopping 6996 runs in 52 tests with such an average is a record that has never been tampered with in its 78-year history. The second-best batsman to have played at least 20 matches and have the highest average was fellow Aussie batter Adam Voges with an average of 61.8. This shows how ruthless Sir Bradman’s batting accomplishment is.

For a bowler, getting a hat trick is a dream come true. Not just because such instances are rare to come by, but it takes 3 consecutive great balls to dismiss a batsman. One such person who made a career record of 5 hat-tricks including two times when he picked 4 wickets in 4 balls is Lasith Malinga.

The Sri Lankan pace legend has done it all. Picking 4 wickets in 4 balls in the 2007 World Cup against South Africa and then again in 2019 vs New Zealand. Overall, a career spanning 5 total hat-tricks, this is sure to remain an unbreakable record for the long time to come.

How can a record list be full without a mention of the Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar in the list?

A man who has tons of accomplishments in his long voyaged career of 22 years, one of his records that’s yet to be crossed by the closest batter is scoring the most boundaries in test match cricket. With over 2058 test boundaries, the only current cricketer closest to the record is Joe Root with 1208 boundaries. With Joe Root aging and might retire in some years to come, this record in all likelihood would remain intact in test cricket.
