For the World Cup happening in India in October 2023, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has instructed the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) to keep the boundaries at least 70 meters away from the playing pitch. Is this the right order?

I think this is a good step by the ICC. As the boundaries in some of the Indian stadiums are very close from the pitch, it becomes very easy to hit a six with minimum effort. This decision will help the game of cricket become better.

BCCI should have already taken this step much earlier. As most of the pitches made for white ball cricket are batting friendly, bowlers must be given some leverage of an increased boundary distance of at least 70m.

I agree with ICC but I think 70 meters is too much. 65 meters would have been a good distance from pitch to the boundary, helping both the batsman and the bowler. However, in batting friendly pitches like the Chinnaswamy and Holkar stadium in Indore, boundary distance must be 70m+.
