After three months, Binance has officially announced the resumption of its services in Belgium. Belgian citizens can now re-register on the platform. The tweet also mentions new user terms, and users must accept these terms before using various Binance products and services.
Binance has faced regulatory challenges in Europe in recent months, including:
- In the UK, Binance's UK branch canceled its registration with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
- In the Netherlands, Binance announced its exit from the Dutch market and only provides withdrawal services since mid-July.
- In Germany, Binance faced registration refusal in June and voluntarily withdrew its license application.
- In Austria, the license application was canceled, with plans to return to the EU under the MiCA framework.
- Reports of a money laundering investigation involving Binance in France.
Belgium is one of the 27 EU member states, and the resumption of services in Belgium may signify Binance's gradual recovery in Europe. A Binance spokesperson had previously mentioned their focus on ensuring full compliance with regulations when MiCA is officially implemented next year. This aligns with the founder CZ's tweet from April, expressing support for MiCA and a commitment to adjust Binance's operations to become fully compliant in the next 12-18 months. |
