The well-known NFT project Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), after its launch, not only expanded into the metaverse but also acquired the NFT veteran project Cryptopunks, all within just 2 years.
BAYC Collaborates with Trendy Brand BAPE
As the annual Bored Ape Yacht Club event, ApeFest, approaches, BAYC has announced a collaboration with the trendy brand BAPE. During the Hong Kong ApeFest event, a limited physical collection will be introduced for the first time, and all ApeFest participants will have the opportunity to purchase co-branded products directly on-site on 11/4. Bored Ape holders who cannot attend the ApeFest event need not worry, as it has been officially announced that these products can also be purchased online.
BAPE is a well-known streetwear brand born in Harajuku, Japan, with the full name "A Bathing Ape in Lukewarm Water."
The official statement emphasizes that BAYC NFT holders will have priority access to purchase, but this collection is expected to be available in BAPE stores worldwide starting from December. Currently, the official details about the co-branded products have not been released, but they are likely to include common items like clothing, pants, hats, etc.
Regarding this collaboration, the BAYC official statement says: "What do you get when you put two apes together? This collaboration stays true to our shared values: community, uniqueness, and casual luxury. Additionally, BAYC is a loyal fan of BAPE—just like many of you—so it makes sense."
No Improvement in BAYC Floor Price
Despite many blue-chip projects continuing to explore opportunities in the NFT space, the NFT market has been in a bear market for over a year, with overall market capital flowing out. Even Bored Ape Yacht Club has been unable to rebound.
According to NFTPriceFloor data, BAYC has fallen from its peak of 128 ETH in May of last year, with the floor price dropping to a low of 22.9 ETH at one point, a decline of over 81%, marking a new low for nearly two years. As of the time of writing, it is currently trading at around 24.29 ETH, showing no signs of improvement. |
