On September 28th, following a three-team trade, NBA legend Charles Barkley commented on the league landscape.
Barkley stated, "I really think the Nuggets lost some great players, I truly do. The Nuggets lost some good players. I'm not disrespecting the champions, but if you ask me, I think the Lakers and the Suns are the two top favorites to win the Western Conference, and in the Eastern Conference, it's the Celtics and the Bucks.
"As I said, I'm not bothered by what the Suns did; I still like the Suns and the Lakers. I'm not down on the Nuggets. They have Joker (Nikola Jokic), but they lost some really great role players (Bruce Brown and Jeff Green).
"They're missing some really outstanding role players, and they'll rely on some young kids. I don't know if those young kids will be ready when they face the Suns and the Lakers in Game 6 or Game 7." |
