We often see teams reaching agreements with players and signing contracts, but have you ever wondered what players and teams are actually discussing behind the scenes? Recently, Liverpool superstar Salah shared some details of his negotiations with Liverpool on social media, giving people a glimpse into how their negotiations took place.

The details of this contract negotiation process were shared by Salah on social media as part of a Harvard Business School research project. This report reveals some negotiation details from the last time he negotiated with Liverpool. Over the past few years, Salah has achieved numerous honors in collaboration with Liverpool, so the player undoubtedly has a strong sense of belonging to the club. However, when it comes to negotiations, to avoid the player becoming too emotionally involved, negotiations with the club are usually conducted by the player's agent, rather than the player himself.

According to the report, during the contract renewal negotiations, Salah's agent was in the UK, while Salah was on vacation in Egypt. As the initial negotiations were not going smoothly, Salah's agent was concerned that the contract, which was thought to be a done deal, might fall apart. So he called Salah and told him that Liverpool's offer was far below their demands, asking him what to do next. Salah replied that he was very willing to stay at Liverpool, but the club also needed to show their commitment to keeping him, otherwise, they might have to part ways.

The report also reveals discussions between the two about whether they should push for a higher contract. Salah has complete trust in his agent, knowing that he understands what Salah wants and always has his best interests at heart. In the end, Salah successfully renewed his contract with Liverpool, with a weekly wage of £350,000, making it the highest wage in Liverpool's history. This clearly demonstrates Liverpool's sincerity in wanting to keep Salah.

Today, Salah has proven himself worthy of this salary with an excellent performance, contributing 3 goals and 4 assists in 6 Premier League matches. Liverpool's rejection of bids for Salah in August has also been proven to be the right decision.

This is true love. For Liverpool, Salah's salary is the top in the team, but for Salah, the annual salary of £18-20 million is nothing, as Saudi Arabia has offered him a minimum of £100 million per year, which is 5-6 times higher than his current contract. It shows that Salah still wants to prove something on the world's highest stage.
As for Saudi Arabia, if they can maintain such high investment in 5 years, 36-year-old Salah may go there again!

Is this matter supposed to be kept confidential? Didn't everyone know the details before?

What?! A weekly salary of up to 350,000! That's full of sincerity; he will definitely renew his contract.

"During the summer, Salah was very close to moving to Saudi Arabia to play. Salah is already 31 years old and has achieved the pinnacle of honors with Liverpool, having won the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League. The possibility of further advancement seems unlikely. If Saudi Arabia were willing to offer a contract worth 200 million euros for a year, I believe Salah would not refuse. The reason Salah didn't make the move was probably because Saudi Arabia didn't offer as much, or perhaps the transfer fee they offered to Liverpool was not satisfactory. Additionally, the transfer deadline was approaching, and Liverpool might have had difficulty finding a suitable replacement with the substantial funds they would receive.

However, Salah's performance this season with Liverpool has been quite impressive. Currently, Liverpool's results are good, even though they don't have the UEFA Champions League to compete in. This season provides an opportunity to pursue the Premier League title and the Europa League trophy. There are no formidable opponents in the Europa League, and in the Premier League, Manchester City remains the biggest rival. If Manchester City slips up, Liverpool could have a chance. They should aim to win the Premier League and then consider a big contract in Saudi Arabia next summer.

Professional footballers usually have agents who are highly skilled and can negotiate more suitable contracts for players. So, it's generally the agents who handle negotiations with clubs."
