On September 27th, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his views on "JPMorgan's decision to cease providing cryptocurrency payment services to UK users." He stated that this move is highly inappropriate and tagged UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and UK Member of Parliament Andrew Griffith, suggesting that JPMorgan seems to disregard its policy goals (ideas).
Furthermore, Armstrong recommended that UK cryptocurrency holders close their JPMorgan accounts.
Yesterday, it was reported that the UK banking giant JPMorgan will prohibit cryptocurrency-related payments for UK customers starting from October 16th. JPMorgan stated that its ban on cryptocurrency payments is due to "an increasing number of fraudsters using cryptocurrency assets to steal significant amounts of funds from people." |
