In recent years, Belgian football star Kevin De Bruyne has been an absolute core player for Manchester City, leading the team to win multiple important trophies. However, this season, due to the effects of age and injuries, De Bruyne no longer holds the same unquestionable status within the team. Feeling that his position in the team is no longer secure, he has chosen to delay contract renewal negotiations with Manchester City.

This season, with De Bruyne sidelined for at least half a year and several key players leaving the team, it was expected that their performance might decline. However, Manchester City has shown remarkable resilience, unaffected by the injuries. Manager Pep Guardiola has successfully reshaped the team, and they are currently leading the Premier League with six consecutive wins.

As a result, De Bruyne's tactical importance within the team is likely to diminish further. At 32 years old, De Bruyne has contributed significantly to Manchester City over the years, and the club has expressed its desire to continue working with him. Initially, contract negotiations were progressing smoothly. However, it seems De Bruyne has reconsidered his renewal plans due to Manchester City finding alternatives during his absence. When he returns from injury, he may need to compete for his starting position.

According to reports from the British media outlet "Mirror," De Bruyne has decided to postpone contract renewal negotiations with Manchester City until he fully recovers from his injury.

This is a natural development from both perspectives. Manchester City would naturally want the successor to De Bruyne to emerge as quickly as possible, now that they have found one. As a club legend, De Bruyne's departure, if it comes to that, would be understandable if he realizes that he won't be able to compete for a starting spot once he returns from injury. However, De Bruyne's influence at Manchester City is significant, and he may well join the ranks of legends like Sergio Agüero, with the club erecting a statue in his honor after retirement.

Personally, I hope De Bruyne continues his journey with Manchester City. Despite his age, he still has more to offer and can make the games even more exciting. He's not at the stage of needing to go for lucrative deals in Saudi Arabia. Whatever decision De Bruyne makes, I believe Manchester City fans will always hold him in the highest regard for his dedicated service to the club.

I really hope De Bruyne doesn't leave Manchester City. One of the main reasons I love Manchester City is because of De Bruyne. I hope he stays.

Perhaps he realizes that there's no longer a place for him to shine at Manchester City. At his age, could he actually be considering retiring in Saudi Arabia? Haha, after all, there's been a recent trend of players moving to Saudi Arabia.

"The biggest surprise for Manchester City this season is Alvarez's emergence. While not a perfect replacement for De Bruyne, considering their distinct playing styles, Alvarez has effectively filled the gap in the Manchester City lineup left by De Bruyne's injury. Manchester City's winning streak during this period is closely related to De Bruyne's playmaking and central role.

For me, as a fan, this is a significant development. It's worth noting that we don't lack forwards; what we need is an attacking playmaker in the midfield and forward positions. The improvement brought by the 'Little Spider' is undoubtedly a positive for Manchester City and myself!"

It's just a temporary disagreement on the price. His age is a factor, and with the current uncertainty surrounding his injuries, negotiating the price isn't as favorable as when he was healthy. However, I believe his next contract will still be with Manchester City.
