The U.S. SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) has officially acknowledged Franklin Templeton's application for a Bitcoin spot ETF. It's important to note that this does not signify approval of the ETF. After acknowledging the ETF application, the SEC has a 45-day period to make a decision, during which they can choose to approve, reject, or extend the application. The SEC can extend the review period for up to 240 days, which means that the decision could be delayed until May 2024 at the latest. Franklin Templeton is a major U.S. asset management firm with over 70 years of history, operating in more than 30 countries and managing assets totaling $1.5 trillion. |
