"Hello everyone, how have you all been lately? I can say that I've been going through a rough patch. I'm a loyal Manchester United supporter, so the team's wins and losses have a significant impact on my mood. Unfortunately, in the recent past, Manchester United played two games at home and lost both of them. Consecutive home defeats have completely shattered my spirits.
I believe many of you have heard about the chaos surrounding Manchester United. The club is in turmoil, both on and off the field, and as a Manchester United fan, it's incredibly frustrating. I even find it hard to open sports news apps these days because discussions within the Manchester United community are filled with negativity. It's either criticizing the players, the coach, or fans arguing with each other. It's during these times of turmoil within the team that I realize how powerless fans can be.
I've emphasized before how important fan culture is in football and how fans can have a significant impact when a team is facing difficulties. However, more often than not, apart from cheering for the team during matches, fans' influence on specific decisions is quite limited. I can recall only the recent instance where the decision of elite clubs to join the European Super League was collectively overturned by fans. Apart from that, most decisions seem to go unchallenged.
While I understand that it's normal to leave professional matters to professionals, many Manchester United fans, including myself, may sometimes feel like we should take matters into our own hands. Over the past decade of chaos, even with the change in coaches to Ralf Rangnick, there's little faith that changing the coach again will truly make Manchester United better. In the midst of such chaos, what can fans really do? We've protested against the owners, we've cheered for the team, and Ralf Rangnick has received considerable support from fans, yet we still find ourselves in this chaotic state.
To be honest, I, along with many other Manchester United fans, don't know what to do anymore. Abandoning Manchester United is out of the question, but we also don't know what it will take to see the club rise again. Perhaps Manchester United's fate is similar to my youth, lost somewhere in a corner I can't locate. Otherwise, all that remains is sadness. This is a reflection of my recent state of mind, and it has become quite a stressful situation. It can be said that there's nothing worse than this." |
