What are some real-world use cases of Ethereum?

I was preparing a project report for my MBA Finance project around Blockchain Technology. I was keen to see any real-life application of Ethereum that could be outside of crypto.

Ethereum Blockchain is used to run several on-chain job platforms. On-chain hiring platforms use blockchain technology to issue certificates of skills, experience, and other past records.

A real-world use case of Ethereum is that it hosts most of the stable coins available in the market. These stable coins are used to transfer fees, payments, and remittances to other countries.

Popular stable coins such as USDT, USDC, BUSD, etc., all exist as ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum Blockchain.

Ethereum serves as a base consensus layer for several scaling solutions by providing them its security. These scaling solutions provide fast transactions and use Ethereum to prove that their transactions are valid.

Some examples of such scaling solutions are Optimism, ZKSync, and Polygon.
