If you see any ads claiming to beat the game of roulette, don't waste your money. These claims are false. Over the years, some of the greatest minds in history have tried to design a system to beat the game.

Albert Einstein even studied how to beat roulette. After spending time on the problem, he concluded that it was impossible and famously said: The only way to beat roulette is to steal the money when the dealer's not looking. In a sense, he was correct. His point was that there's no way to use mathematical betting to overcome the house edge.

Roulette Betting Patterns

While there's no strategy to beat the game, many players like to use a set of betting patterns when playing roulette. They don't abandon the entire layout of their chips. Instead, they prefer to bet on multiple numbers and single numbers directly, hoping to extend their play while achieving small wins. Double Street Quad Strategy

With this strategy, you'll bet on two double streets while making quad or corner bets and a straight-up bet. By using this betting pattern, you cover 17 numbers on the layout, with no more than 5 adjacent slots on the wheel uncovered. You'll be placing six chips for every spin. Place two chips on each double street and one chip on a corner, inputting the chosen number directly. You can pick any number you like directly to bet on. I prefer to play number 5, so that's the number I use.

Coverage with two chips on each double street: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

Coverage with two chips on each double street: 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33

Coverage with one chip on a corner: 17, 18, 20, 21

One chip on the number 5 (you can choose your favorite number, but it should be one not included in other bets).

Payouts

Double street pays 5-1. With two chips, if one of the numbers in your double street bet lands, you'll collect ten chips. You'll have a profit of six chips (you'll lose four chips, two from your other double street, one from your corner bet, and one from your straight-up bet). Corner/quad bet pays 8-1. If the ball lands on one of these four numbers, you'll get three chips (you'll lose four chips from your double street bet and one chip from your straight-up bet). If the ball lands on your chosen number, you'll get a profit of 30 chips (you'll lose four chips from your double street bet and place one chip on the corner).

Five Quad Strategy

With this strategy, you'll make five quad/corner bets and one straight-up bet. Using this betting pattern, you can cover 21 numbers on the layout. If you include the straight numbers contained in the corner bets, you can cover 20 numbers. Place a single chip on each of the following corners:

5, 6, 8, 9

10, 11, 13, 14

17, 18, 20, 21

25, 26, 28, 29

32, 33, 35, 36

Place one chip on your favorite straight-up number. Quad bets pay 8-1, so if the ball lands in any of the four numbers you've bet on, you'll receive three chips each. You'll collect eight chips in total, but you'll lose your other four bets, one of which is on your straight-up number. Straight numbers pay 35-1. If the ball lands on your chosen number, you'll profit by 30 chips (you'll have bets on five corners).
