When will Manchester United be purchased? This Manchester United takeover saga began last year and has been lingering until this year without a conclusion. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano's report, a Qatari consortium led by owner Sheikh Jasim offered a full purchase of Manchester United for nearly $7 billion. However, the Glazer family was not satisfied with the offer, and Sheikh Jasim officially announced his withdrawal from the acquisition deal, bringing this transaction to an end.

Qatari billionaire Sheikh Jasim has been in negotiations with the Glazer family, the current owners of Manchester United, for the past year. The main point of contention has been the club's valuation. Sheikh Jasim estimated Manchester United's market value at approximately $3.5 billion, while he offered a $5 billion acquisition price, agreed to clear the club's current debt, and pledged an additional $1.5 billion to upgrade the club's facilities. Despite this generous offer, the Glazer family still refused.

Reporters have suggested that the Glazer family chose not to sell Manchester United mainly because they foresee a high likelihood of the club's value increasing with the further development of the Premier League. At that point, the club would be even more valuable and could be sold at a higher price. The current moment was not the optimal time for selling Manchester United, according to the Glazer family's perspective.

Some people have claimed that the Glazer family never had a plan to sell Manchester United in the first place. They suggested that due to increasing dissatisfaction from Manchester United fans in England towards the owners, the Glazer family was pressured to publicly auction the club. However, this was just a public show and an attempt to demonstrate their effort to sell the club, but it had to be shelved due to failing to meet the expected offer. With Sheikh Jasim's comprehensive withdrawal, the desire to change ownership for Manchester United is once again unfulfilled.

Currently, the only remaining bidder is Sir Richard Leese, but he initially intended to purchase only 25% of Manchester United's shares, which would not give him full control of the club's decision-making. The Glazer family still prefers this type of acquisition as they want to maintain ownership of the club. Regardless, this opera has finally come to an end.

It seems that this matter has finally come to a close, but it still feels like a prearranged farce.

So, there was no successful transaction; it was all just a play.

At the end of the day, if they won't sell at such a high price, they genuinely don't want to sell.

The Glazer family's emphasis on financial interests has taken precedence over the emotional attachment of fans and the long-term development of the club. It seems that the decisions of the Glazer family are guided by their own interests rather than genuinely considering the welfare and wishes of the fans. This may raise concerns about the conflict between commercial interests and fan culture in the modern football industry.

In terms of revenue, Manchester United has been the undisputed king of Europe for the past two decades. Unfortunately, the money is being used by the Glazers to pay off loans.
