The Brazilian securities regulatory agency plans to establish a tokenization sandbox in 2024.
Financial reports state that Brazil's securities regulatory agency, Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM), plans to launch its second regulatory sandbox program in 2024. Daniel Maeda, the head of investor regulation at CVM, announced this during a speech at the Rio Innovation Week. The regulatory agency aims to explore regulatory sandbox use cases for tokenization starting in 2024. Maeda mentioned that the agency is launching its second sandbox program after gaining valuable experience tokenizing assets worth around $36 million. He added that CVM intends to wait for developments related to the Brazilian cryptocurrency market, including changes in the country's central bank digital currency, Drex. |
