"Fractal: A gaming NFT trading platform deployed within the Solana ecosystem, focused on supporting the free exchange of in-game assets in a secure and open market. Fractal was founded by Justin Khan, the co-founder of Twitch, and it completed a $35 million seed funding round in April. Leading investors include Paradigm and Multicoin Capital, with participation from a16z, Coinbase Ventures, Solana Labs, Animoca Brands, and others.
To provide a seamless gaming experience, Fractal has introduced the Fractal wallet, allowing users to register and log in conveniently using their existing Google accounts. Fractal divides games into four categories: Mints, Tournaments, Trending, and Play Now. Mints display games that are currently or soon to be open for minting. Users can access relevant information for each game in different categories, including NFT trading data, project introductions, and links to community platforms.
In addition to traditional ""Play to Earn"" features, the platform hosts tournaments where players can compete for prizes by participating in tournament games. The current tournament game is Earth From Another Sun (EFAS), a space sandbox chain game that secured $4.5 million in funding from Solana Ventures, Alameda Research, and Lightspeed in June. The current prize pool for this tournament is $10,000. As of August 2nd, Fractal offers playable games in the categories of shooter games and tank battle games.
Moreover, Fractal introduced a Launchpad in January, allowing game developers to raise funds by selling digital assets from their in-game environments. The projects on the Launchpad undergo rigorous screening to ensure quality. Besides providing NFT trading services, Fractal is actively exploring more use cases for NFTs, including NFT lending and NFT collateralization." |
