How good is Joe Root in one-day cricket?

The English modern great batsman Joe Root has tremendous records in the red ball game but he still hasn’t played a career-defining knock in the ODIs. This time he is in the WC squad. How good is he in the ODIs?

Joe Root is really a good batter be it the tests or the ODIs. I believe he is the backbone of the ODI team after Ben Stokes.

He is still only 32 years of age. In the first ODI game against New Zealand, he played an anchor role and scored a half-century.

He has proved himself in the tests but he still needs some good knocks to define himself as an ODI player as well, which I am sure he will in this World Cup.
