The Netherlands have pulled a historic feat by becoming the first associate cricket nation to defeat South Africa in this World Cup 2023. The Dutch also defeated the Proteas in the T20 World Cup 2022 as well.

On 17th October 2023, the Netherlands team defeated South Africa in Dharamshala. The match was delayed due to rain and was cut short to 43 overs. Scott Edwards from the Netherlands played an incredible innings and then the Dutch bowlers won the game for the Netherlands.

It was such an amazing game. No one thought that the Netherlands had any chance to win against the mighty South Africa. The grit and perseverance shown by the Dutch players were amazing. I want to see them winning more games now.

South Africa was also defeated by the Netherlands in the T20 World Cup 2022 and was ruled out of the tournament. I think South Africa has started choking against minnow teams. This does not suit a team like the Proteas.
