"Shops that don't accept credit cards are quite common, but those that don't take credit cards and instead accept Bitcoin are relatively new. Pattaya, a popular resort destination in Thailand, has such a bar, and they've even placed a sign at the entrance to remind customers of this rule.
On a popular foreign discussion forum, Reddit, someone posted a photo in the Bitcoin discussion section. The picture showed a sign at the entrance of a bar, listing the bar's rules. Apart from prohibiting outside food and pets, what's especially unique is that it tells customers they don't accept credit cards but right next to it, there's a sign that says, ""Bitcoin Accepted Here.""

In some shops or restaurants in Thailand, if you want to pay with a credit card, the establishment usually charges an additional 3% handling fee, and there's often a minimum spending requirement. As a result, tourists traveling to Thailand usually carry more cash. However, with the increasing use of Bitcoin, this situation may become more common." |
