"Today was a day with surprises but no real danger! It's essential to be especially vigilant when there are elderly people at home.
Here's what happened: I went out today and left my grandfather at home by himself. In reality, my grandpa is in good health and can take care of himself without any issues. That's why I felt comfortable leaving him home alone since it would be inconvenient to take him along with me on my trip to the countryside.
But something unexpected almost happened!
Someone called him on the phone and told him he had won a prize, and he believed it! He ended up talking to them for a while, just going along with the conversation. Let me tell you, this is all part of a scam. They start by telling you that you've won a prize and then engage you in conversation. Later on, they instruct you on what to do.
Fortunately, I called him in the middle of this conversation, and he told me about it. I immediately told him to hang up the phone and not continue with the call. It was clear that this was a scam! If I hadn't made that call, my grandpa might have fallen for it.
Well, I guess next time I'll think twice before going out and leaving him alone. Staying home might be the safer option." |
