According to Wojnarowski, Giannis Antetokounmpo has reached a 3-year, $186 million contract extension with the Bucks.
The details of Giannis' contract, as explained by salary expert Bobby Marks, are as follows:
2025-26 season: $76 million.
2026-27 season: $82.21 million.
2027-28 season: $88.82 million (with a player option).
Giannis had three years remaining on his original contract with the Bucks, which would have expired after the 2025-26 season. The previous contract had his salary for the 2025-26 season increased from $51.5 million to $76 million.
It's reported that the Bucks' general manager, Jon Horst, and Giannis' agent, Alex Saratsis, met in Chicago on Sunday to discuss the details of the max extension contract. The two parties finalized the agreement today, and the deadline for Giannis' max extension was tonight at 11:59 PM Eastern Time, with less than 5 hours remaining before the deadline.
After the extension was announced, Giannis wasted no time taking to social media, saying, "Milwaukee!! Let's make it official!!!" In the 2022-23 season, Giannis averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. During this summer, the Bucks acquired Damian Lillard in a trade. |
