On October 29th, the Snapshot vote results show that the Swiss bank Fiat24's proposal to issue a co-branded Visa debit card with Uniswap did not pass, with a 93% disapproval rate. Previously, Fiat24 initiated a temperature check vote on the Uniswap governance platform titled "Issuing Visa Debit Cards with the Uniswap Logo." The proposal outlined that Fiat24, a regulated and licensed Swiss bank operating on Arbitrum, relies solely on smart contracts to handle all banking operations, having abandoned traditional servers. Fiat24 serves as the fiat layer in decentralized exchanges like Uniswap. The proposal aimed to collaborate with Uniswap to introduce a co-branded Visa card to strengthen this bridge and expand its services to the European, Southeast Asian, and Latin American regions. |
