According to data from the Brazilian tax authority, the use of USDT in Brazil has seen a significant increase, accounting for 80% of all cryptocurrency transactions in the country. As of mid-October, the USDT trading volume in Brazil for this year has reached 271 billion Brazilian reais, which is approximately $55 billion US dollars, nearly twice the trading volume of Bitcoin in the country, which stands at 151 billion reais, approximately $30 billion US dollars. Since 2021, USDT trading volume in Brazil has been steadily growing, surpassing Bitcoin trading volume for the first time in July 2022, during the peak of the cryptocurrency industry's storm, coinciding with the collapse of Three Arrows Capital and Voyager Capital. |
