"People always say when it comes to lottery tickets, you shouldn't get rid of them until the very last minute! You never know, your chosen numbers might hit the jackpot unexpectedly. You'd regret it, wouldn't you? So, never give up until the very end! There's a story of a lady in the United States, Mary Elliott, who thought she wouldn't win and accidentally threw her lottery ticket away. When the results were announced... surprise! It was her winning numbers! She hurriedly searched through several trash cans to find her ticket.
The Virginia Lottery Company recently declared that she had won an $110,000 jackpot. Unfortunately, she had thrown the lucky ticket into the garbage. As reported by the media, she scoured through trash cans after realizing she had nearly missed her fortune. After days of being in the trash heap, her ticket had some coffee stains making the barcode hard to scan. Mary Elliott had to take the ticket to the Virginia Lottery office for manual verification before finally claiming her prize.
It just goes to show, luck is often a matter of timing. When she realized she had won, Mary Elliott was excited and said, ""I chose my numbers using my birthdate. When I found out I won, my hands were trembling with excitement."" The Virginia Lottery Company stated that the odds of hitting the rolling jackpot in the EZ Match game are only about 1 in 750,000, with the minimum jackpot starting at $100,000. If no one matches all five winning numbers, the cumulative jackpot for the next drawing increases.
It was a close call! If she hadn't found her ticket, I think that lady would have felt really silly. You know, when something is meant to be yours, it'll find its way back to you. Don't you agree?" |
