On August 19th, Paolo Ardoino, the Chief Technical Officer of Tether, announced on social media that they are testing a new mobile app called Keet. This app will provide genuine P2P voice calls, end-to-end encryption, and product stability. Once released, the team will focus on features, integration, and a P2P plugin marketplace. He emphasized that the app will always be free and without any central infrastructure.
Previously reported, Tether, the issuer of USDT, along with the cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex and the Hypercore open-source protocol team, collaborated in July of last year to launch the peer-to-peer (P2P) encrypted communication app Keet based on the underlying technology Holepunch. |
