Since the start of the new season, there have been constant controversies surrounding the judgments made by Premier League referees. Even though it's been nearly three months into the season, there has been no noticeable improvement in the referees' performance. In a recent match against Newcastle, Arsenal faced yet another contentious decision. Frustrated by this, Arsenal's manager, Arteta, publicly criticized the Premier League referees and decided to openly confront them.

Last week, Newcastle defeated Arsenal with a score of 1-0 in a Premier League match, and the only goal of the game was shrouded in controversy. The decision to allow the goal stood despite suspicions of the ball going out of bounds, an offensive foul by the attacking team, offside, and a potential handball. This ruling led to Arsenal's first league defeat of the season, prompting Arteta to vent his frustrations and label it as a disgrace that should not exist in the Premier League.

Arteta's comments sparked widespread debate, with various opinions emerging. Some agreed with Arteta, while others felt he shouldn't have been so emotional. In a subsequent press conference, Arteta stated that he respects everyone's views but remains steadfast in his opinion. He also pointed out that the majority of Premier League managers share his concerns about the quality of refereeing. Arteta believes that constructive criticism is essential, and acknowledging mistakes is a way to progress, rather than ignoring issues that need to be addressed.

In response to Arteta's criticism, the official Arsenal club issued a statement in support of Arteta's viewpoint. The Premier League referees felt that Arsenal's stance was unwarranted, asserting that they are continually working to improve their refereeing standards and are baffled by Arsenal's comments. The English Football Association has called for an explanation from Arsenal, and if the explanation is deemed unreasonable, it could result in potential charges and penalties for Arsenal or Arteta.

Arsenal is not backing down in this dispute and has prepared a stack of documents to confront the referees openly in the upcoming referee meetings. This controversy between the club and the referee corps is far from over.

Don't talk about protesting; even a successful formal appeal won't change the outcome. A small change can have far-reaching consequences, and no one can bear the significant changes that may follow. It's just that the people and standards related to the subsequent matches have changed.

The current state of referees in the English Premier League is really subpar. Before the introduction of VAR, there weren't as many incidents, and now, it's inexplicable why there are even more incorrect decisions with VAR in place.

Actually, it's that their team lacks sufficient strength. Look at Manchester City – they score a few goals, and it's game over. Of course, in a fiercely competitive league, referee decisions can potentially sway the final battle for the championship, but overall, it comes down to who has the bigger punch. Their team's punch is still a bit weak and not quite formidable enough at the moment.

Where there are people, there will always be controversy. Let's see who wins and who loses, shall we?

This has happened several times already, but there hasn't been much change.

Are the referees not paid enough? Could it be all about the money? If there is concrete evidence, such occurrences are highly unacceptable.
