A few days ago, while dining out, I saw a father and his child. The man ordered a bowl of plain noodle soup for the child and had a simple meal himself with a bun outside. Life is not easy for them. Although I had just received my salary, I ordered some extra food for them. At first, the man hesitated and said, "Why should I accept kindness without reason?" I've experienced hardship before, and my reaction was similar to his at the time. Someone who had helped me in the past told me that such acts of kindness aren't without reason. They hoped that when I encountered people in need, I'd also extend a helping hand. The goal is to pass on the spirit of helping others. When others are happy, I am happy too.
During our conversation, I learned that the man lost his job due to the pandemic, and his child's mother was not around. He had to take care of his child and work, which was not easy. Coincidentally, there was a job opening for a security guard in our residential area, so I recommended it to him. I hope he can persevere and find a way to make a living. In the future, I also want to do more good deeds. It's my hope that doing good things can bring me some added luck. |
