At the Oscars ceremony, a guest made a tasteless joke about Will Smith's wife, commenting on her shaved head and asking if she was preparing for a sequel to ""Shaolin Temple."" In my opinion, it's okay to make jokes, but it's important to think before you speak. Making fun of someone's appearance or difficulties is not just humor; it's mockery. I've never been interested in watching the Oscars, but I watched this news to see what happened.
As a man, protecting one's family is a fundamental duty. When Will Smith smiled and walked towards the stage, nobody expected that he would slap the guest in response to the joke. The whole audience was shocked, and Will Smith returned to his seat, saying, ""Shut off your fxxking mouth!"" The guest was immediately embarrassed and didn't know how to respond.
In fact, Will Smith's wife shaved her head not as a fashion statement but due to a rare illness that required it. I believe this is a heartbreaking situation for anyone. Ten minutes after the altercation, Will Smith unexpectedly received the Best Actor award. During his acceptance speech, he cried and said he had to protect his family. He also mentioned that love can sometimes make people do crazy things. Behind this award, there was a lot of pain, including criticism and mockery from people. Will Smith's actions may not have been right, but in this case, I support him for standing up for his family.
The guest who made the joke was actually a close friend of Will Smith, and he later admitted that he shouldn't have made fun of someone who was ill. He publicly apologized for his remarks. Will Smith also acknowledged that his actions were impulsive and apologized as well. After this incident, the Oscars' viewership ratings exceeded those of the previous year. |
