The saying goes, Time is money, and an inch of time is worth an inch of gold, but inching it is hard to buy an inch of time. For everyone, time is indeed money, especially for athletes! Young players in the NBA are particularly sought after. Currently, the youngest player in the NBA is Josh Primo of the San Antonio Spurs, born in 2002. I guess the seasoned forum users didn't expect someone so young, right? Today, let's take stock of the top five NBA players born after 2000!

Fifth: RJ Barrett
Birthdate: June 14, 2000
As one of the heroes who led the New York Knicks to the playoffs last season, RJ Barrett has become an indispensable forward and 3D star for the Knicks. This season, he averages 14 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. It's truly incredible that Barrett, as a young player, has already played three years of professional basketball in the NBA.

Fourth: Tyler Herro
Birthdate: January 20, 2000
Surprisingly, Herro performed exceptionally well in the finals. Born on January 20, 2000, he had an outstanding performance in the finals for the first time, even at just 19 years old. I don't know what most readers were doing at 19; many were probably still in college. Now, Herro is in his third season, averaging 21.7 points per game and becoming a core player for the Miami Heat. Herro is destined to be one of the most formidable scorers in the NBA.

Third: LaMelo Ball
Birthdate: August 22, 2001
LaMelo, the three-point rookie who entered the league last year, was born in 2001 and has at least four years of professional experience. Before the NBA, he had three-point training in the Australian league and the league created by his basketball dad, and the results were remarkable. Last season, he won the NBA Rookie of the Year with his three-point skills. This season, he averages 20 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game. We are witnessing the rise of a new star.

Second: Anthony Edwards
Birthdate: August 5, 2001
As the number one pick last year, Edwards made significant progress this season after losing the Rookie of the Year award. Edwards averages 22.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, and a 34.9% three-point shooting percentage this season. In a game against the Golden State Warriors, he scored 48 points! However, Edwards, who achieved all of this, is just a teenager born in 2001. He has a long career ahead of him.

First: Zion Williamson
Birthdate: July 6, 2000
Probably due to injuries keeping him off the court, people seem to have forgotten the 2019 first overall pick. In the 20-21 season, Zion averaged 27 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, becoming the first player born in the 2000s to average over 25 points. After his return this season, it remains to be seen whether Zion can continue his outstanding performance from last season.

Indeed, they are young, and it's believed that the younger generation surpasses the older one.
