Have you told your partner if you win money? I'm asking this because lately, every time I walk into my husband's study, I see him sneakily closing some web pages on the computer. At first, I didn't pay too much attention, but as it happened more often, I started to suspect. Is he chatting with someone he doesn't want me to know about?! I'm not naive, so I got smarter and, when entering his study, I slowly and gently open the door to catch him off guard!
Finally, I saw it! He has started online gambling again. I confronted him directly. I'm not against him gambling, but of course, it's best not to get addicted. I'm most afraid of him borrowing money for gambling and things getting out of control. After questioning him, he admitted that he won money. Here's the question: if I hadn't found out, would he never have told me? And what does he plan to do with the winnings?
I've been pondering this for a few days and decided to ask you on the forum. If it were you, would you tell your partner? If not, why? I don't like arguments, so I haven't asked much since that day, but I did remind him not to borrow money. I complained to my friend, and they said maybe my husband wants to have some secret money for easier purchases in the future, or having private money gives him a sense of security.
I've been thinking that in a marriage, shouldn't we be open and honest with each other? Being kept in the dark doesn't feel good. After some thought, maybe what I can do is go along with his wishes, and then he won't resist telling me everything? Give me some advice, everyone. Do you think it's really that simple, and he just wants to save some secret money? He wouldn't do anything wrong, right? Also, I don't know how to keep him from getting addicted to gambling. When I talk about it, he finds it annoying, and when I don't, it bothers me. |
