Poker card game ""Showdown"" rules and gameplay are somewhat similar to Texas Hold'em, making it easy for friends with a foundation in Texas Hold'em to pick up. With simple online Showdown gameplay that doesn't take much time, it has become a handy tool for many players for leisure and entertainment. However, many beginners often confuse the differences between the two, so today, we'll carefully introduce the Showdown gameplay and rules.

Showdown, also known as ""Sand Crab"" or ""Sun Cold,"" is one of the variants of the classic poker game ""Stud poker."" The rules and gameplay are very similar to Texas Hold'em, making it easy for friends with a concept of Texas Hold'em! But there are still some differences between the two! Next, I'll take you through how to play Showdown!

How to Play Showdown:

The concept of Showdown is quite similar to Texas Hold'em, both being poker card games that involve psychological warfare. Each game will have 3-5 players, and during the game, players must try to force opponents to fold to increase their chances of winning.

You can simply divide Showdown gameplay into five steps:

1. The number of players is 3-5, and each player starts with 2 cards (one face-up and one face-down).
2. Each round, one face-up card is dealt, followed by a round of betting, totaling four rounds.
3. The player with the highest face-up card, also known as the ""lead"" player, initiates the betting and can choose to raise, check, fold, or showdown (show hand).
4. During the betting process, players can choose to fold and concede. However, if any player ""showdowns,"" the remaining players must follow suit or choose to fold.
5. The final players who haven't folded will have a total of 5 cards—4 face-up cards and 1 face-down card—in their hands, and the winner is determined by comparing hands.

So, what are the differences between Showdown and Texas Hold'em?

I've compiled a table to help you easily identify the differences between Texas Hold'em and Showdown in just one minute:

|                    | Showdown               | Texas Hold'em            |
|--------------------|------------------------|--------------------------|
| Number of Players  | 3-5                    | 2-10                      |
| Table Position     | No special allocations | Each position has specific terms and uses |
| Starting Hand Cards| 2 (one face-up, one face-down) | 2 (both face-down)          |
| Game Flow          | 3 rounds, a total of 3 cards dealt | 3 rounds, a total of 5 cards dealt |
| Showdown           | Use 5 cards to form the best hand | Use 7 cards to form the best hand     |
| Term - All-In      | ALL-IN                 | Showdown (SHOW-HAND)    |

This should help you differentiate between Showdown and Texas Hold'em. Enjoy your games!
