Baccarat Labouchere Betting System Introduction
We have seen many well-known baccarat betting strategies in the past, such as the 1324 betting system, the five-round eight-star strategy, baccarat smile method, etc. These are baccarat betting strategies that have been established in the poker world for years and have a certain status. However, the Labouchere betting system for baccarat, its execution and effects are different from the familiar baccarat techniques. The Labouchere method is not designed to rapidly increase chips in a short period. Instead, its goal is to maintain a long-term "surplus greater than losses." Therefore, the Labouchere system is a "slow and steady" betting strategy.
To correctly execute the Labouchere strategy and ensure stable operation, players must have a comprehensive understanding of core elements such as "chip allocation, stop-loss setting, stop-win setting, betting concept, and risk avoidance." These aspects are not overly complex and can be understood by new baccarat players who spend time studying each detail. Once all aspects are in place, players can gradually learn and apply the Labouchere betting system.
**Labouchere Betting System - Chip Allocation**
The first step is to discuss "chip allocation," which is similar to chip configuration. It involves a long-term planning strategy for betting after starting. In the Labouchere system, we use a "3-round" unit, and after calculating the chip amount per single round, each round requires a bet of "3 units." The subsequent steps determine the betting direction based on the "winning or losing situation." If you "win," the next round's bet is reduced by "one betting unit." If you "lose," the next round's bet is increased by "one betting unit." Each round consists of three sessions, and the Labouchere strategy is continuously cycled. There are eight possible results for each set of 3 rounds, as detailed below:
- Win/Win/Win: 3 (original bet) + 2 + 1 = 6 (betting units)
- Win/Win/Lose: 3 (original bet) + 2 - 1 = 4 (betting units)
- Win/Lose/Win: 3 (original bet) - 2 + 3 = 4 (betting units)
- Win/Lose/Lose: 3 (original bet) - 2 - 3 = -2 (betting units)
- Lose/Lose/Lose: 3 (original bet) - 4 - 5 = -12 (betting units)
- Lose/Lose/Win: 3 (original bet) - 4 + 5 = -2 (betting units)
- Lose/Win/Lose: 3 (original bet) + 4 - 3 = -2 (betting units)
- Lose/Win/Win: 3 (original bet) + 4 + 3 = 4 (betting units)
**Labouchere Betting System - Betting Techniques**
**1. Specializing in Betting on the Player**
The core of the Labouchere system is to focus on "reverse operation," which means "specializing in betting on the player." While many traditional baccarat strategies recommend betting on the banker, the Labouchere system emphasizes betting on the player. Even though the banker has a slightly higher winning percentage (51% to 49%), the actual occurrence of 51 wins for the banker and 49 wins for the player in 100 rounds is unlikely. Therefore, avoiding "banker streaks" and focusing on the player can significantly improve the player's winning percentage. Avoiding consecutive banker wins by pausing betting when the banker wins three consecutive rounds and resuming when the results return to normal is a key part of the Labouchere strategy.
**2. Using Flat Betting is the Essence of the Labouchere System**
The essence of the Labouchere betting system is "stable survival," and one crucial aspect is the "flat betting" method, where the betting units remain the same for each round. Although the Labouchere strategy suggests using a "unit for every 3 rounds" for advanced players, the "flat betting" method is recommended for newcomers. The contradiction between these two approaches is resolved by providing two strategies for "newcomer players" and "advanced players." Players can evaluate their familiarity with baccarat and choose the appropriate strategy or adapt based on the situation. |
