On November 25th, the editor-in-chief of the Spanish media "AS," and a well-known Real Madrid fan named Longsero, posted a photo on social media showing Messi grabbing an opponent's neck. He wrote, "In the past decade, Messi has grabbed more necks than championships."
In the South American World Cup qualifier match where Argentina lost 0-2 to Uruguay, Messi and De Paul got into a conflict in the first half and both grabbed the neck of Uruguay player Olivera. However, the referee made no indication, leading to significant controversy.
Some fans joked on social media, saying, If it were Cristiano Ronaldo making such a move, I can't imagine what would happen after the game. |
