Maxi: LeBron's dedication hasn't diminished; he always arrives at training earlier than I do.
On November 28th, today, the 76ers defeated the Lakers 138-94 at home. After the game, 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey gave an interview.
Regarding his good friend LeBron James's dedication, Maxey said, "The stats and everything speak for themselves. He's also a very skilled basketball player. He's in his 21st year in the league, and his dedication has not diminished in the slightest. That's the part that makes me feel crazy. He's still putting in the work early in the morning. For example, when we agreed to train at 6 am, he's striving to get to the gym earlier than me. He has four MVPs, four Finals MVPs; he has all the honors, unmatched awards, and yet, his desire and motivation to beat a 22-year-old who has achieved nothing on the way to the gym, it shows his character. Hats off to him."
"Our training was scheduled to start at 6 am, and I, as usual, arrived early, at 5:30, to start stretching. The next time when we had a 6 am training, he was there at 5 am. When I walked in, he was already drenched in sweat. I asked, 'What's going on? What are you doing?' He said, 'I can't let you beat me to the gym.' I said, 'You're crazy.' He was sweating all over, just finishing a set of strength training. That whole week, he was trying to get to the gym for a 5 am workout. I told him, 'You know what? I do my strength training after practice, so you caught me on this one, you win.'"" Maxey said.
In this game, Maxey played for 36 minutes, made 9 of 20 shots, and scored 31 points with 3 rebounds and 8 assists. |
