Despite some controversy, Dorsey stated that encouraging the use of Bitcoin has always been Square's vision, saying, Any payment method that appears on our list should be accepted by sellers.
Dorsey mentioned that regardless of the approach Square takes to promote Bitcoin payments, there is one premise, and that is not to compromise the openness of the network. He said:
This community is so open, and I want to make sure that nothing in the business world threatens that. We cannot risk harming it to start this thing. If this technology cannot thrive and be used by anyone, we will not be able to achieve anything with it. |
