Speaking of teams in the Americas, the focus is on Brazil and Argentina. These world-class teams boast international superstars and are strong contenders for the Copa America. Many fans are likely to support them in next year's tournament. However, this edition is different as, apart from traditional South American teams, it has invited national teams from Central and North America, turning it into a truly Pan-American event. With the inclusion of equally strong teams like Mexico and the United States, they could be game-changers. Now, let's take a look at the groups:
Two teams are yet to be determined: Play-off Winner 1: Canada vs. Trinidad and Tobago; Play-off Winner 2: Costa Rica vs. Honduras. Regardless of the play-off winners, their impact on the overall competition may be limited due to their comparatively weaker strength.
In the group stage, the qualifiers seem predictable. In Group A, Argentina is likely to dominate, while the second spot is open. Group B may see Mexico and Ecuador advancing, Group C could have the United States and Uruguay, and in Group D, Brazil and Colombia are expected to progress.
The knockout stage is more challenging to predict, as any team could face elimination. Argentina and Brazil both lost in this year's World Cup qualifiers to potential opponents in the Copa America. Mexico, Uruguay, and Colombia could challenge the traditional powerhouses. Therefore, predicting the final four is difficult, making next year's Copa America one of the most suspenseful in recent times. Who do you think will have the last laugh in the 2024 Copa America? |
