There couldn't have been a better homecoming for the Indian women's team in Test cricket. Day 1 of the one-off Test match between India and England at the DY Patil Stadium saw the Indians, playing their first home Test in nine years, reach 410/7 in 94 overs thanks to half-centuries by Satheesh Shubha, Jemimah Rodrigues, Yastika Bhatia, and Deepti Sharma. The fans who attended would have been especially happy to see Shubha emerge at No. 3 in a team that features big hitters Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana.
