Khurram's right rib cage fracture was confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and following expert consultation, it was determined that he would not be able to play in the remaining Test matches in Sydney (January 3-7) and Melbourne (December 26–30). Due to an abdominal muscle tear and a stress fracture in his left tenth rib, Khurram Shazad will not be playing in the Test series against Australia. During the first Test, he reported feeling uneasy in his left side, according to a statement from the PCB.
