The seasoned South African opener Dean Elgar will announce his retirement from international cricket following the conclusion of the next two Test matches against India. The 36-year-old's decision was made public by Cricket South Africa on Thursday, December 22, and his final appearances will be in the games in Centurion and Cape Town. When he announced his retirement, Elgar had amassed 5146 runs at an average of 37.28 from 84 Tests, including 13 hundreds. In addition, he represented South Africa in eight One-Day Internationals, the most recent of which was in 2018.
